Usability hint: scroll bar on the page with comments should reflect the real situation in the text

mardi 22 janvier 2013

You loaded the page habozapisi with comments. The browser will render the page and defined its height and then calculate the height of the scrollbar slider and display it. The problem is that if the record is more than one screen, and a lot of comments on the page, you will be misled about the amount of content: The scroll bar does not reflect the real amount habozapisi. Do you see how the scrollbar displays a fraction of the whole page with comments, and do not share the target content. This is not good.

The decision on JavaScript: minimize power with comments render and deploy if the comment block will be quite close to the bottom of the page. In this case, immediately after the opening of the scroll bar displays the actual amount habozapisi, and when we turn the page to the comments - rebuild the image and show the position of the deployed.

If you arrived at stration carried by the anchor to any comment (# commnet-34295878634), the code should catch this and do not turn off the comment block.

Problem is irrelevant for solutions where comments are displayed on another page.

The decision is bad, if the user expects the scrollbar will show the amount of comments page. True, I can not figure out who needs it. In the case of Habre easy to estimate the number of comments on the announcement of a meta habozapisi in the tape.

Have yet to be any problem, as long as you can imagine.
