Cloud: Oracle launches its infrastructure to private demand

Solution with its private cloud infrastructure, Oracle intends to take the company's full range (analytical, storage, computing ...) on their own site, away from their firewall. All at a cost that can be reduced by 30% over a period of three years.
Oracle ExadataThe américian Oracle is preparing to launch its offer infrastructure as a service (IaaS) private mode, which companies can use on site, behind their firewall. Benefits for clients: managed by the provider through a monthly flat rate, but the servers are located on site, which can be seen as a guarantee of security and control infrastructure. Oracle does not play on the same field as Amazon Web Services and public cloud.
Oracle cloud rather be seen as an alternative to traditional on-premise deployment ("on-premise"), whose bill is often spicy. On this point, the company Larry Ellison argues that the tariff advantage provides the solution. Over a period of three years - which in fact corresponds to the minimum commitment - its IaaS would approximately 1.08 million against $ 1.36 million for its Exadata system if purchased, deployed and managed by the company itself. A simulation that does not include the purchase of additional resources (Capacity on Demand), in which case the solution would cloud to 1.32 million.
"For the first time, customers can benefit from the performance, scalability and reliability of Oracle systems deployed on their own site, away from their firewall, with a monthly subscription," commented Juan Loazia in a statement Vice President of Software Development at Oracle. "And thanks to the Capacity on Demand option, they can adjust the price according to the workload required," he added, praising the savings that may result to the client.
Among the systems considered by the IaaS found Exadata Database Machine (database), Exalogic Elastic Cloud (application server), SPARC Supercluster (calculus), Exalytics In-Memory Machine (analytical) and Sun ZFS Storage Appliance (storage). More details on this offer will still be given the opportunity of a presentation by Oracle on January 22.
